Asus will launch a touchscreen version of its popular Eee PC netbook, a Taiwanese news source has reported.

Plans to produce a touchscreen Eee PC were said to be "suspended" back in January, but the plans have been revived for a launch next year.

DigiTimes reports that Asus is planning to launch touch panel Eee PCs in the first quarter of 2009, quoting Samson Hu, general manager of Eee PC business at Asustek.

Which is the many Eee models to be granted touch is still to be decided, to be based on market demand, but it has been revealed the company will showcase the new products during CES 2009.
