fring has announced that after its iVersion went live on the iPhone App Store on Saturday 4 October, there were more than 91,000 new registrations in the first 24 hours.

Calling the response "nothing short of phenomenal" these stats have made fring the number one social networking application on Apple's App Store in a fair few countries, and number 3 in the UK and US.

The fring app lets iPhone and iPod touch owners talk, chat and interact with other fring users and all of their online communities (Skype, MSN, Google Talk, ICQ, Twitter, Yahoo & AIM) using their device’s internet connection.

fring for iPhone and iPod touch is free to download and free to use without any subscription fees.
