In September, Sony launched a DisplayLink empowered Vaio dock which offered the user the chance to add another monitor to their desktop setup via a USB cable.

Now Mitsubishi has integrated this technology into a new 20.1-inch widescreen LCD monitor.

The RDT201WDL WIDE LCD is currently only available in Japan, but here's hoping it makes it to the West.

As well as the DisplayLink option, it features a USB hub, built-in Ethernet and WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050) resolution.

This model is also one for the eco conscious as it has an on-screen energy meter and three levels of power usage.

Mitsubishi also claims that it uses up to 36% less power than a traditional LCD.

We'll keep you posted if we hear of a UK release date.
