iTunes U gets Oxbridge content

Oxford and Cambridge podcasts available now

iTunes users can now access course content and materials from Oxford and Cambridge universities.

The two prestigious educational bodies are the latest to sign up to provide lectures and the like for iTunes U.

iTunes U lets colleges and universities add learning and course content to for students to access anywhere.

Apple claims the service is "transforming learning in the classroom, outside the classroom, and where there's no classroom at all".

Users can search, download and play course content just like they do music, movies and TV show with lectures, short films and interviews available.

Oxford said more than 150 hours of free audio and video podcasts has been put on-line while Cambridge has added 300 podcasts.

In the UK, University College London and the Open University were the first institutions to make educational resources available earlier this year.
