T-Mobile hypes G1 pre-sales demand

Triple nothing is still nothing

7 October 2008 16:46 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

In the States, T-Mobile has said it has already sold its out of its pre-order stock of the G1, the world's first Android phone.

"Given the great anticipation and the heavy presale demand for the T-Mobile G1 with Google, we nearly tripled the number of phones initially available for delivery on our Oct 22 launch date, and have sold through them all", T-Mobile said.

No actual numbers have been provided aside from the "tripled" quote, so its hard to say if this is as much of a success as is being painted.

T-Mobile's press office in the UK have been slow to provide comment on how pre-sales interest is faring in the UK, where the phone is due to go on sale in November.
