  • Waste of money. Unless you sit less than 4 feet away, you won't tell the difference between 1080p and 720p on an HDTV this size. Avoid this like the plague. 1080p is only useful on HDTV's 42 inches and above. Posted by Matt, USA
  • It's not Full HD as it's only 1080i according the Misco... Posted by Thomas, France

  • Think of this as a 28" widescreen computer monitor with 1920 x1200 resolution and 3ms response time, that spec alone makes this very interesting to gamers who will love the fast response time and the ability to kill things in a large screen environment. Now add the fact it also includes a dual DVB-TV tuner and that it sells for the same price as some 22 - 24" monitors, and it becomes something of a bargin.

The spec is the same as the Hanns.G - HG281DJ 28" widecreen monitor but this Hanspree has a digital TV tuner included & more ports around back.

  • I've just bought one of these, basically a huge (27.5") disappointment. Using the HDMI on a V+ box the aspect ratio was slightly off, I verified this on a 7300GT based PC DVI to HDMI - you do not get 1:1 pixel mapping for 1080p and 720p sources. I suspect the same applies to the xbox 360 et al.

HDMI will accept 1920 x 1200 source and this does give some very good results playing back on HD Stills and video , but for web browsing and use as a monitor the text is not clear. Even though we have a HDMI input and we can select a whole range of resolutions not one of them provides a 1:1 pixel mapping - this has to be a design fault.

VGA input, the HT09 (or Xv-S as marked on the box) will auto detect the same range of screen resolutions as the HDMI input, but the results are somewhat fuzzy.

Other connections, the unit also has RF In (for DVB-T), 2 Scart inputs, PC audio in and headphones out, exactly the stuuf you would hope for on a TV but I had already repacked the unit and requested a Returns number before testing any of these.
