Although Asus in the UK remain tight lipped about this new product, in Taiwan, a new Eee PC has been made official.
The Eee PC S101 is a bit of a departure for the range - described as an "exquisitely designed netbook for fashion forward individuals who view style as as much of a factor of success as substance".
Waffle aside, the S101 boasts a new look for Eees with a glossy exterior in three colours, brown, champagne or graphite.
Weighing in at 1kg and "svelte" at 1.8cm thick, the new Atom-based netbook has a 10.2-inch LED backlit display and will be available running either Windows XP or GNU Linux.
The S101 boasts an SSD up to 64GB, gets Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth V2.0, integrated four-in-one card reader and 5 hours' battery life.
Other features and spec of note include a webcam, 1GB DDR2 memory, VGA port, three USB ports and two audio jacks.
We have not been able to prise pricing or availability info out of the Asus' UK PR firm, but will update this story when we know more.
