So we know Microsoft has introduced fairly attractive price cuts of its own recently, that have seen a boost in its sales of the Xbox 360 across Europe.

However, the lovely Sainsbury's has taken it upon itself to bring the price even lower, no doubt in hope that those battling the credit crunch will head to the store for presents in the run up to Christmas.

The supermarket is offering the low-end Xbox 360 Arcade for £99, £30 less than the RRP from Xbox, and the Xbox Premium for £140, down £30 from the RRP of £169.99.

If you're more into your Wii, you can also pick one of those up for £150, but for those after a PS3, you'll have to pay full whack for that, at least for now.

  • The red ring of death was last years problem, the xbox360 is much much more reliable now. This is a great opprtunity to pick one up because it is a great console. Posted by Ade, uk

  • if u want to buy a 360 expect to be disappointed, im looking to buy a new one that will actually be my fourth console as others broke down to hardware failure (frazzled motherboard 3 times).

To be fair microsoft were quite good in repairing my last one free of
charge even outside the standard one years warranty,
but when my console started scratching the discs and damaging them permanently rendering them useless for know reason what so ever and customer support refused to acknowledge the problem expecting me to pay for repairs on a two year old console thats given me nothing but grief i did my self a favor and smashed it to pieces

basically there like slot machines you put in more than you get out.

if you dont want the trouble get a ps3 as long as your willing to spend twice as much

  • Lew,

I do think the ps3 is a lovely machine but those controllers are awful and really puts me off buying one.

Anyhoo! you save yourself the trouble by buying two! You can still get one for £119 at amazon inc. delivery or the 60gb for £159... buy both and you've spent less than a single 80gb PS3 (£289), problem solved.
