The Wii Speak microphone peripheral announced at this year's E3 and bundled with the new Animal Crossing game, is to get its own Wii Channel.

Each microphone will come with a coupon to download the channel, which will let up to four friends talk over the internet for nada, which makes for happy phone bills.

That's all that's known at the moment, but there's bound to be other features unveiled soon, as well as a release date hopefully as there's been no word on that as yet either. Oh, those pesky bods at Nintendo love to keep us on our toes don't they?

The Wii Speak peripheral will sit atop your TV and register the chatter from multiple people in the room. It's due for release with Animal Crossing sometime in December, but there's been no date given for when the standalone peripheral will be released just yet.
