We've all grumbled about that the fact that the iPhone doesn't support Adobe Flash.Well - it seems that it is Appleholding this development back.
If web reports are to be believed (thanks Boy Genius Report), Adobe has an iPhone-friendly version of Flash all ready to go. It is just waiting for the nod from Apple and co.
Jens Brynildsen, a Flash expert and reputable Flash source told the tech blog: "Upon a direct question from the audience, [senior director of engineering at Adobe Systems] Paul Betlem for the first time publicly confirmed that Adobe is actively developing a Flash Player for Apple’s popular phone".
"He said (not direct quote) 'My team is working on Flash on the iPhone, but it’s a closed platform.'"
"He noted that Apple makes all the decisions, so in other words, the ball is in Apple’s yard at this time. If Apple says yes, Adobe will have the player available in a very short time."
Just think of all of the web-based applications that you currently can't use or see on the iPhone, and all of the flash-based apps that third parties could be developing even as I write.
Come on Apple - hurry up! Phones, Mobile phones, Apple, Adobe, iPhone, iPhone apps
