UPDATED: Sony launches Vaio JS all-in-one desktop PC

iMac-rival to launch in the UK

Sony has launched the Vaio JS all-in-one PC.

Like similar offerings from Apple and Dell, the JS's main unit comprises of a 20.1-inch WSXGZ+ screen that offers 1680 x 1050 resolution and widescreen movie viewing.

The new PC boasts an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 3GB of memory, a 500GB hard disk, 802.11n/g/draftn Wi-Fi, an optical drive and there's an integrated Motion Eye webcam for video chat or blogging.

The Dolby Home Theater technology claims to create an impressive virtual surround sound effect, while there's also Sony's Sound Reality signal processor chip built into the system that can handle SA-CD.

Complete with various bundled software, including Windows Vista Home Premium, the new iMac-rival will be available in pink and silver.

UPDATE: Prices for the JS-1 will start at £699.
