Uniross has launched a battery charger that can completely recharge AA and AAA batteries in just 15 minutes, apparently making it officially the world's fastest battery charger.

A charger with its own "computerised brain", it has a safety feature to cut the charger out if batteries are left in for over 20 minutes, whilst still keeping them topped up with power.

There's also a built-in fan that keeps the batteries cool, and it comes complete with an adapter which allows it to be used from a car cigarette lighter.

The new high speed Uniross charger will be available from October for £34.99.

  • It's far from the first Amy. I already own an Energizer one, which according to your description of the Uniross equivalent was clearly a key source of 'inspiration' for the rival product.

  • Definitely not the first! Energizer's 15 minute has been in the market for some years. I think the product was voted "Product Of The Year" in 2006. Posted by Paul Smith, UK
  • My goodness, we are all getting a bit confused here!

Uniross launched their first 15 minute battery chargers in 2004 - in fact they launched three different models of 15 minute battery chargers (and yes, Uniross were the first - Energizer have only recently jumped on the rechargeable bandwagon)

Without doubt i would say that Uniross have been the inspiration for ALL battery manufacturers, they have been at it since the late 1960's!!
