Games seized, only to be stolen again

Thieves have stolen £600,000 worth of confiscated video games from a police compound.

The games, which included titles such as Grand Theft Auto IV and 16,000 copies of Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway had originally been recovered by police after they were first stolen in Northampton.

However, the compound that was storing the blue Renault lorry containing the games was broken into, and the vehicle was later discovered without the valuable contents.

"We are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry, including eBay transactions where a number of the games have been potentially identified as being advertised for sale. Arrests have already been made in respect of this", said a police spokesperson.

Ubisoft, publisher of Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, added: "Fans needn't worry as more stock is being parachuted in".
