The new target for camera phones now seems to be 8 megapixels.

Sony Ericsson brought us the C905, LG has now unveiled the Renoir or KC910, and Samsung has delivered the i8510.

But now Samsung may be about to launch yet another 8-megapixel model.

Rumour has it that a model codenamed M8800, or Bresson in the UK and Pixon elsewhere, will arrive in November.

The Russian website, mobile.mail.ru, says that the phone will boast a 3.2-inch 240 x 400 pixel touchscreen, the 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash, support for quad-band and HSDPA, a built-in accelerometer, GPS and FM Radio (with RDS support).

The site also claims you'll get geo-tagging capabilities, WVGA movie shooting, a virtual QWERTY keyboard, microSD card slot but no Wi-Fi.

It also adds that this phone will not be a smartphone as "it will not be powered by any proper mobile OS".

The launch is mooted to be 10 November and the phone is expected to have a price tag of around £400.

  • It is nice that SAMSUNG is competing with other mobile companies.
I think this will be a cool phone as compared with other ones.
