Sony has revealed what it says is the world's lightest computer with Blu-ray technology - the VAIO TT Series notebook.

With a lightweight carbon-fibre chassis, the TT weighs in at 2.87 pounds and is less than an inch "thin."

The TT series features an 11-inch widescreen display with Sony's XBRITE-DuraView LCD technology and can show films in 16:9 ratio while there's HDMI out for hook-up to a big screen TV.

With Intel Centrino 2 processor technology, certain models will offer dual channel 256GB (128GB x 2) solid state drives and the range will be available in a premium carbon black, silk black, champagne gold and crimson red.

The TT Series will go on sale in the States from $2000 in the autumn.
