HD video for £130

We brought you news of the Kodak Zi6 way back in July, but Kodak have used Photokina as an excuse to show off the device and confirm UK launch and pricing.

The pocketable video camera takes the fight to the likes of the Flip and the Creative Vado delivering a host of impressive specs. The Zi6 will record in diet high-definition (720p at 30 or 60fps) in a 16:9 aspect ratio ideal for playback on your HD ready TV.

Memory-wise you’ll be needing to take advantage of the SD/SDHC card slot on the side (accepting up to 32GB) as there is only 128MB of internal memory.

The device has a fixed focus lens, but does offer a macro mode and there is a 2x digital zoom. You can also capture still images at 3MP after interpolation. As with other devices in this class, a button press flicks out the USB 2.0 connector and all the software you need is on-board, powered by ArcSoft.

John O’Grady, General Manager EMEA, referring to the recent US launch, told Pocket-lint: "I’ve never seen product uptake as rapid as this".

Kodak is looking for an October launch date and price of around £130.
