Asus has announced that it will be adding "3.75G" connectivity to its Eee PC netbooks. In particular the 8.9-inch 901 models will get the extra connectivity from October 2008 onwards.
The comapny says that with 3.75G (that is very much network-dependent) the Eee will be able to deliver on its promise of "borderless one-day computing".
Users will get, where available, downlink and uplink speeds of up to 7.2Mbps and 2Mbps respectively.
No operator partnerships have been revealed. Dell's Inspiron Mini 9, another netbook, will launch soon in the UK with built-in 3G exclusive to Vodafone.
