Optoma has launched a new series of portable projectors capable of delivering 300-inch displays and aimed at gamers.

Prices start at £349 for the projectors, which come with 2.1 speakers which have integrated subwoofer, but also a purpose-designed backpack so you can take your projector round to a mate's house.

The manufacturer says that the projectors deliver the "lightening response times, high contrast, and vivid colours" needed to bring gaming to life.

There are two models.

First up is the Optoma GT-7000 which is an HD-ready model in a piano black finish, that boasts a 4000:1 contract ratio and 1600 lumens for £499.

The second launch is the Optoma GT-3000 - which is an SVGA projector in white offering a 2000:1 contrast ratio and ultra-bright 2300 lumens for £349.

Both models have a DLP (Digital Light Processing) chip, offer colour enhancement technology, and a remote control.
