Pioneer shows off Series 8 speakers

Smart, sleek and contemporary

Available from next month is the new speaker line-up from Pioneer.

The Series 8 range comprises three models: the S-81 floor-standing speaker, the S-81B-LR bookshelf speaker and the S-81C centre speaker.

The S-81 and S-81C are available in either high-gloss black and white ash veneer, while the S-81B-LR offers these as well as a walnut veneer option.

Pioneer says that the Series 8 models are its best sounding yet, and are built around its "exclusive" concentric tweeter/midrange driver, which is claimed to deliver "cleaner and more accurate sound reproduction".

It also promises no sound distortion at low frequencies, and a basket frame that "reduces unnecessary reaction and resonance".

Design wise - the speakers don't feature any pins or screws on the front baffle board due to the newly developed magnetic grilles.

All Series 8 loudspeakers will be available from October but we don't have prices as yet.
