• What I don't get clear in all this titanic competition circus is why can't they all pack together highering the res? Nikon made a fabulous "point and shoot" cam with GPS data tracking at 14 megapixels, which I own and really enjoy. I could be interested in a sort of G1 with HDMI output, higher resolution (I work in advertising) and GPS data. It could be an allround scientific imaging tool either for landmarkers, geologists, archaelogists and, last not least scientific police units who could change lenses and carry on shooting without losing position data, not caring anymore about angulations. Hdmi output of static and moving pictures could be instantly overviewed by a team on LCD monitors or TVs without losing precious time in previous processing digital data. I enjoy a lot my little geo-tagging Nikon and it has given me a lot of professional profit, but the possibility of using macro lenses would increase the resolution by four, if not five. Sincerely, I don't know what it takes those three big-shot companies to increase CMOS resolution and add some little extra such as geo-tagging. I've got the slight suspect all of these three companies that they, before creating economically accessible professional tools, are just checking the geek market first which, in times of global economical recession is, up to me, quite a silly thing to do. If those three continue itty-pitty competing, the upcoming forth, Samsung, although its lens provider, Schneider, won't ever be able to compete with Nikkor, Canon or Zeiss lenses, will swiftly take over the geek market offering higher resolution, geo-tagging, HDMI output and maybe also a bundle of software that, if bought seperately, would be far more expensive than the whole camera itself.
