Ricoh has announced the launch of the R10. The new compact has a 7.1x optical wide-angle zoom lens (28-200mm in 35mm film equivalent focal length), features a 460,000-dot 3-inch HVGA monitor, and an electronic level.
Successor to the R8, the camera has a 10-megapixel CCD and Smooth Imaging Engine III processing engine.
New features include a function button to switch settings with one push, and enhanced grip and "design sense", an easy shooting mode, improved macro functions and image stabilizer and face recognition mode.
Ricoh says the new electronic level is there for keeping the camera level when shooting landscapes, buildings, and the like with a level indicator appearing on the LCD display.
Measuring 22.6mm at its thinnest point, and available in silver, black and brown, the R10 will be available mid-October at £199.99.
