Bringing art back down to earth

19 September 2008 0:00 GMT / By Ian Hughes

What's going on, eh?

With Damien Hirst's whoops of delight still ringing in his ears after selling a hundred-odd million quids worth of pickled wildlife, the art world is going through a bit of a purple patch.

And the work of Slinkachu is no exception, The anonymous artist's work is getting a lot of press - simply because it's so different.

The Banksy-esque artist sets up miniature tableaux in and around everyday places using tiny figures and props, photographs them and then leaves them to the elements.

Some disappear within minutes, others have remained undisturbed for months.

Whatever your opinions on modern art, there's something to be said for this stuff - it's fun and for the time being at least it's free.
