Sony's A700 gets firmware update

Noise reduction off setting added and processing software improved

A new firmware update is now available for the Sony A700 DSLR.

Additions include the ability to be able to select auto exposure bracketing (single & continuous) with 3 shots in 2 EV steps.

Snappers can also now turn off the High ISO NR feature.

Sony adds that the image quality when the camera is in the high ISO setting mode has been improved as well as the auto white balance and D-Range Optimizer performance.

The camera manufacturer has also addressed communication problems between the camera body and vertical grip.

New software includes Image Data Converter SR (v3.0 which is the same as supplied with A900).

This increases the speed of display rendering and also adds peripheral illumination compensation as well as improving the effectiveness of Dynamic Range Optimizer.

The camera also now benefits from version 2 of the Image Data Lightbox SR, which remote camera control.
