We've previous reported that the BBC had enjoyed record audiences during the Olympics, but final figures have now been revealed for the broadcaster's on-demand Olympics programming.

The corporation served around 50 million sport-related video streams during the games with nearly 9.7 million hours of video viewed.

The BBC said there was a peak of just under 200,000 live and on-demand viewers during the games with around 100,000 regularly watching at the same time.

As an example, sprinter Usain Bolt's world record winning 200 metre run was streamed 500,000 times on 20 August while the text story was read 914,000 times the same day.
