BenQ, who launched eight new monitors to the UK market this week, is planning to launch an Eee rival, Chinese manufacturing sources are reporting.

The Taiwan-based company is planning an entry to the netbook market with the Joybook "Lite" in fourth quarter of this year.

October will see an 8.9-inch model launching while a 10-inch 16:9 aspect ratio is rumoured for a November debut.

The Joybook Lite will be made by Pegatron Technology and get Intel's Atom processor, Windows XP, and will include a built-in 3.5G module.

It's reported that pricing is expected to be close to $468 mark, which, if the device makes it to the UK, would be around £265.
