Evolutionary theme unpopular with Creationist

Spore attacked as un-Godly . Gaming, PC games, EA 0

An Anti-Spore site has appeared online to protest against the evolutionary message of the popular game.

The site says that the EA game is their "biggest attack on Christian values to date" and "will not be tolerated".

Concerned that the game will "invade our homes and poison the minds of our children", the site's author writes:

"Yesterday I found out about a new game called Spore when my son asked me to buy it for him. It looked innocent enough at first and has E for Everyone ESRB rating. But don't be mislead, apparently 'everyone' means everyone they want to teach evolution to."

The site also attacks EA employees with the nicely worded: "not a single one with enough Jesus to stand up and say what they are doing is wrong".

  • I love the idea that there are some people out there that believe that the world was still created in 7 days by a dude in a white beard.

Surely the goings on at CERN will tell you that there was a big bang, stuff was made, then eventually monkey's turned to humans, we got the ability to programme games and pop here we are today.

I agree with Alex. It's a GAME. Get over it

  • The beautiful thing about it is the Ads by Google. Yes, on my browse around the site I was bombarded with adverts for EA games and, you guessed it, Spore.

    Gotta love the Internet.

  • I think it's sad, because she's entitled to her views (which I UTTERLY disagree with) but by raising a rukus and trying to force them on everyone else, she is bringing down holy hell onto herself, which in turn just solidifies her suspicions that all we gamers ARE rabid and awful.

This is -no- different than the issue with Grand Theft Auto, really. It is the job of a parent to research the entertainment purchase their child is requesting, and if it violates their own beliefs, to say NO.

  • I think it's quite funny you all fell for a hoax and a very cleverly orchestrated Rick Roll. :) Posted by Lenny, USA
