Lindy, the accessory maker, has announced the launch of a new VGA to USB gadget that allows you to run a second monitor without the need for a second graphics card.

The technology, which works in a similar way to competiting tech DisplayLink, will mean that you'll be able to easily double the size of your desktop.

Costing £64.99 the LINDY USB to VGA Adapter supports screen resolutions of up to 1280 x 1024 and is compatible with Windows 2000/XP and Vista.

The attached display can be used to extend or mirror the computer’s display or even as the primary viewing screen. Laptop users that already utilise their VGA port for a second screen can now add a third screen if they are feeling greedy.

A spokesperson for the company has told Pocket-lint that there is a DVI version coming in about 6 weeks time (price £89.99) that you can connect multiple displays to one computer.

We will keep you posted.
