Velocity Mobile launches 103

First touchscreen offering

Velocity Mobile has announced the retail availability of its first touchscreen phone, the Velocity 103.

The 103 gets Velocity Mobile's Odyssey Interface, built on top of Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and the company's "VOTA" over the air updates.

The GSM/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA phone features the Qualcomm Mobile Station Modem MSM7201 chipset and 256MB ROM and 128MB RAM.

The VGA touchscreen offers a 640 x 480 resolution and there's a 2-megapixel camera with a camera for video calls on the front.

Other features include Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, GPS, TV/VGA out and a microSD card expansion slot.

The unlocked Velocity 103 is available for pre-order online now through Expansys for £324.99 and will ship by the end of September.
