3 launches push email for consumers

With "almost any email on almost any phone" boast

Mobile phone operator 3 has announced the launch of the new push email service for 3 mobile phone customers.

Not aimed at business folk, 3 says the service will work with "almost any email account that you happen to have on almost any handset that you happen to have".

This service works via a downloadable application, available on most 3 phones, to which you can add email accounts (up to 10, phone dependent). Emails are then automatically and immediately pushed to your phone.

It works with almost all ISP mail, and has advanced connectivity with Microsoft Hotmail, Google Mail and Yahoo! Mail, allowing for remote contacts synchronisation with those services.

The cost is £2.50 per month to have all your personal emails pushed to your phone, plus 10MB of internet browsing or for £5 the company offers pushed personal emails, plus work emails, and 1GB of data surfing.
