Sony Ericsson has confirmed the 30 September 2008 as the official launch date for the Xperia X1 – initially available to consumers in the UK, Germany and Sweden.

The handset will be available in other markets across Europe, Asia and Latin America including Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Portugal throughout Q4 2008, while dates for North America are to be confirmed.

Sony Ericsson will no doubt be hoping these confirmed dates puts to rest whispers of problems with the phone, with the launch of the handset dogged by rumours of delay. Pocket-lint will bring you more nearer the time.
