Microsoft launches LifeCam Show and VX-5500
With "versatile" designs

Microsoft has launched two new webcams - LifeCam Show and LifeCam VX-5500.
The LifeCam Show is apparently one of the thinnest webcams on the market, while Microsoft says the LifeCam VX-5500 "takes a more sassy approach" with switchable faceplates and a collapsible design.
The LifeCam Show is suitable for desktop or laptop use as it comes with a complete attachment system that includes a magnetic laptop clip, an 11-inch tall desktop stand and two sticky attachment discs.
The webcam offers a 2-megapixel sensor and 8-megapixel stills and includes a built-in, noise-cancelling microphone with echo-cancellation software.
The LifeCam VX-5500 gets three interchangeable faceplates in blue, red and white and a universal attachment clip.
The webcam folds down for easy transport and offers a VGA sensor for 640 x 480 video, 1.3-megapixel stills, and a unidirectional, noise-cancelling microphone.
Both models come with Microsoft's LifeCam software with 30 new video effects and compatibility with the Vista-compatible/Windows Live "Video Messages" that lets users send video messages.
The LifeCam Show and LifeCam VX-5500 will be widely available in October 2008 for the respective prices of £79.95 and £49.99.
