9 September 2008 17:28 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Google has launched an initiative to make more old newspapers accessible and searchable online by partnering with newspaper publishers to digitise millions of pages of news archives.

Google says that not only will you be able to search these newspapers, you'll also be able to browse through them exactly as they were printed complete with photographs, headlines, articles, advertisements and all.

Google users will be able to access the content by searching the Google News Archive or by using the timeline feature after searching Google News with archived articles getting blended into main search results over time.
