An unnamed source speaking to mobile phone blog JAMP has supposedly revealed that the first of Nokia's touchscreen offerings aimed at the mid-range market will see a launch in October. With the same source apparently predicting the announcement of the iPlayer for the N96 before this was common knowledge, there may be some truth in the rumour.
JAMP says: "Moving on to the highly anticipated 5800 ‘Tube’ - Nokia’s touch screen handset running S60 5th Edition is expected to hit stores (in the UK at least) on the 8th October according to our source".
We contacted Nokia's press office in the UK to ask about the rumoured launch, but received a firm no comment in reply. We'll bring you more when we hear it.
