OLPC teams up with Amazon

Etailer to run Give 1 Get 1 scheme in US in November

It's been revealed that Amazon is to offer the One Laptop Per Child's XO machines - but only in the States.

Due to kick off in late November, the ecommerce giant is getting involved in the "Give 1 Get 1" scheme that sees a buyer receiving one machine while a developing nation kiddie gets the other.

The BBC reports that it's hoped the Amazon deal will "iron out" the problems reported when the OLPC managed the scheme in-house.

It is however unlikely to solve the multiple problems reported with the supposedly rugged machine's keyboard.
