People who play the new beamz laser music system will now be able to play along with artists such as the Police, Justin Timberlake and U2.

The beamz is releasing a variety of hit music songs that can be downloaded through its site, then played through its unique six laser beam system, for $2.99 a pop.

For anyone not familiar with this particularly bonkers bit of a kit, there's a nice intro to the device above courtesy of a YouTube vid.

The $400 product has six laser beams and by breaking any one of the beams with your hand the system is triggered to play streams of musical notes or sounds customised by you.

It's so mad it makes the Tenori-On look like a good idea.
