Buffalo Technology has announced the availability of its first portable silicon disk with SSD technology in the UK.

The USB attached MicroStation, or SHD-UHRXXGS, is capable of storing up to 100GB of data measuring 57 x 14 x 89mm and weighing around 60g.

With no moving parts and a shock-resistant chassis, the company claims added protection against shocks or drops while the SSD tech minimises power consumption.

With a wraparound cable, Buffalo's Secure Lock Ware Encryption for Windows and Memeo AutoBackup software too, the MicroStation is available now from Dabs.com, Insight and Misco from £98.25 plus VAT for the 32GB to £292.38 plus VAT for the 100GB.
