Firebox launches LP 2 CD converter

Rip your records

Firebox has launched the "LP 2 CD" that claims to cut out the middleman of record ripping by incorporating a flash memory and CD burner, so you never need to connect the device to a computer.

Such easy digitising of your tunes is not cheap - the LP 2 CD will set you back a whisker under £300 - but it does appear to boast some nifty features.

Records are automatically transformed into digital sound files as they play on the turntable and are stored on an inbuilt flash memory that can handle up to 80 minutes of music at once with track recognition sensing the gaps between songs.

The LP 2 CD can also transfer your tunes onto CD and there is a USB cable included if you want to put the files onto your computer with bundled software to help the process.
