Samsung X360 steals Apple's laptop crown
IFA 2008: Makes the MacBook Air look fat

Samsung has announced a new ultra-thin laptop that it hopes will challenge Apple and HP at the thin game.
While the television manufacturers of the show fought over who had the slimmest television set, Samsung unveiled the X360 (yes we know it sounds similar to Lenovo's X300 range) at IFA in Berlin claiming victory over Apple on the diet stakes.
The new model will sport a 13.3-inch screen and weigh just 1.27kg, a snip lighter than the Apple MacBook Air's 1.36kg.
However rather than cut back features to make the size and weight, the X360 promises three USB ports, a built-in HDMI connection, a 34mm ExpressCard slot and VGA output.
There is also a 7-in-1 memory card reader and Ethernet socket.
Inside and you'll get an integrated 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR, 802.11a/b/g/n wireless connectivity, 128GB Solid State Drive (SSD), and an Intel Centrino 2 processor.
The X360, which is capable of lasting 6-10 hours on a single charge will be available from September.
The X360 will cost around £1200.
We will keep you posted.
