LG Scarlet range gets new models

IFA 2008: New models leaked ahead of show unveiling

LG will be announcing new Scarlet television at IFA this year called the LG 7000 Pocket-lint has learnt.

The new model which will be hitting the UK in September will be based on the Scarlet LG70 model announced in Seoul on Wednesday. Although UK specs have yet to be finalised the model announced by LG globally will offer Full HD 1080p LCD TV and a host of other features including Bluetooth in the UK.

Other features will include 100MHz, 24P Real Cinema and a 50,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio.

According to LG the television will use an advanced algorithm with 4096 steps to automatically adjust the TV’s brightness according to available light to adapt for better picture. The Scarlet will also offer three optimised picture modes: Cinema, Sports and Game.

As with other LG products, LG has turned to sound expert Mark Levinson to fine tune the sound of the speakers that will surround the perimeter of the entire bezel.

There will even be a USB connection so you can plug in and view images or listen on MP3 files.

Four HDMI 1.3 ports allow for multiple connections and LG has even added Bluetooth in Europe so users can connect their mobile phone or Bluetooth-enabled headset.

In American the LG70 variant will be getting LED backlighting allowing the TV to offer a contrast of 1,000,000:1.

LG has also announced the LG80 in Seoul on Wednesday that offers a 3.1-channel virtual surround sound system, fully incorporated into the TV itself, however this not this will be coming to the UK.
