2000 miles on one tank of fuel

It's curvaceous, luxurious and isn't going to attract steely glares from the eco brigade, because the Trident Iceni, as well as being very fast, can cover 2000 miles on one tank of fuel.

It is powered by a Duramax turbo diesel engine with 550 horsepower at 3800rpm, which drives it to speeds of over 200 miles per hour.

And it can go from 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds.

Designed in the UK by Trident Vehicles, the car has been making appearances in the press for years, but the company is now looking for investment to bring the eco, super motor into production.

The company is hoping to make 500 and each will have a price tag of £75,000 ($150,000), so mere pocket money.

  • This sounds like a fantastic car.

But why do motoring journalists seem to have been w*nk-fed by Jeremy Clarkson from birth?

Why 'steely glares from the eco brigade' ? It's precisely the oposite. People who care about the planet-like me- have nothing against efficiency or speed. Everyone knows this, but many can't resist the temptation of juvenile jibes.

  • I'd be wary of such 'amazing' clams...sounds far too good to be true... and if it is, how come the big boys havent done it then? Posted by sambo, uk
  • This car is amazing all round.

The reason the big boys haven't done it yet is that a car that doesn't rust and only needs a service every 100,000 miles isn't going to make them any money in the long term. People won't replace their cars or get them serviced at the dealership as often.

Come on, get your head on straight and realise that.

2 ways it will get anywhere: 1. Trident need to make a smaller, more affordable car. 2. Get thing on Top Gear!

  • This is a great British invention, its good to think we are not 'just a load of shopkeeper' , but there are some brains out there. All thats needed is the next step of cash and sales, something we seem to fail on all too often. So come on you Brits and make it happen. Why are we just the inventors, remember what happend to the Swollow swing wing, and the TSR2!!. Posted by Graham Beale, UK
