In Japan, Panasonic has launched the DMR-BR630V personal video recorder that spans a fair few years of home cinema tech with a VHS deck and Blu-ray drive.
In addition, there's a 320GB hard drive for storage and recording, and presumably to burn tapes to before you consign them to the bin, as well as a USB port and an SD card slot.
With an EPG that can be remotely programmed via PC or phone, the DMR-BR630V hits the Japanese market with a price tag of around £800.
