Canon has refreshed its PowerShot range with the launch of the 10-megapixel PowerShot A1000 IS and PowerShot A2000 IS that boast dimensions around 25% smaller than those of their predecessors, the A580 and A720.

In addition, an "all-new" type of PowerShot, the 10MP PowerShot E1, has been launched with the claim that it is designed by women for women bringing "head-turning, feminine style" to the range.

All models feature a new Easy Mode as one of 17 different shooting modes and there's Face and Motion Detection and red-eye management as well as other Canon technologies for claimed better images.

The PowerShot A1000 IS comes in a choice of blue, brown or silver and will be available from September 2008 priced at £169.00/€219.00.

The PowerShot A2000 IS, that features 6x zoom, in gunmetal and silver will be available exclusively from Jessops from September 2008.

The PowerShot E1, offering a "unique, curvaceous aesthetic" in white, pink or blue is an Argos exclusive and will be on sale from September 2008.
