International readers of this slot today will have to bear with us I'm afraid.

You see, as a nation, us Brits really weren't expecting much in Beijing, apart from the usual dashed hopes and near misses.

So, to see Team GB shine quite so brightly is something we're quite proud of and this little photo montage kind of sums that up nicely.
