Olympus launches 7 new voice recorders

Aimed at Podcasters and business dudes alike

Olympus has announced a range of new voice recorders as part of its DS and VN ranges.

The DS-75, DS-65 and DS-55, will be geared towards podcasters rather than your average bunch of journalists and lawyers while the VN models will offer those looking to take the odd voice notes a chance to do so.

The DS models will pack between 1GB and 4GB of memory, and users will be able to store recordings in five separate storage folders, change playback speed of the recording for when it comes to typing up your notes from 50-200% and check everything on the LCD display.

Hoping to appeal to the visually impaired, Olympus says that all three models boast improved voice guidance systems. This, it says, not only allows for the audible navigation through menus, but instant voice information about battery levels is also available.

Available from late September 2008 at an RRP of £229.99 for the DS-75, £179.99 for the DS-65 and £129.99 for the DS-55.

Olympus has also added four new models to its VN range of go-anywhere notetakers: the VN-5500, plus the PC-compatible VN-3500PC, VN-5500PC and VN-6500PC will be out in September.

Priced at £34.99, £39.99, £49.99 and £59.99 respectively, the entry level devices promise 128MB to 512MB of memory, USB connectivity and around 40 hours of battery life.
