A producer who has worked for BBC, ITV and Sky has joined Bebo as head of original productions signalling that the website may soon be getting new dramas.

Kelly Brett joins the company after working on the latest series of BAFTA-nominated Kate Modern, and will build on the success of the website's online shows, which also included The Gap Year and Sofia's Diary.

Kate Modern drew in 67 million views in a year with its mix of drama and interactive features, while another Bebo online show, Sofia's Diary, has now become the first in the UK to transfer to television and will be aired on Five.

Brett's first project is mooted to be The Secret World of Sam King, a show about a young boy who secretly starts his own record label in the post room of Universal Music.
