Peel apart the "Ply" Phone concept
"Layers" of technology

Six different "layers" of technology make up the "Ply" phone concept.
Designed by Japanese outfit KDDI and its technician Hideo Kanbara, the phone is based on the idea of plywood so each superthin layer gives access to a different phone function.
The top layer is the display; the next - keypad; the third - a printer and so on.
But will this design ever make it out of the woods?
