Old skool Mac gamers may remember the classic adventure game, Myst that was released on to the platform in 1993.

One of the earlier titles in Mac gaming, the game is now to continue its long-standing relationship with the brand, and is being ported to run on the iPhone and iPod touch.

Apparently the game is in development for the Apple mobile platforms now.

The game proved very popular with the gaming community interested in adventures and puzzle gameplay. It was so popular in fact that later remakes and ports were made for he mainstream consoles, handhelds and PCs.

A post on the Myst Online forums confirmed the news: "This is a small project that probably a very few of you know about. We are porting Myst to the iPhone. Ok, before some of you start groaning, this is an outside funded project that is keeping a few developers employed... but it is really more than that. It is an interesting and fun project. This is also a very small team with three of us".
