The Nintendo Wii's meteoric success in the US could all come to a crashing end if one company has its way.

According to Hillcrest Labs, a company that holds a number of patents in the US and around the world, Nintendo has breached two of the company's patents with its family-focused console and it wants payback.

Payback of course, while currently not being fully disclosed, is in the form of a large pot of cash and the stopping of all sales of the console in America moving forward.

In a statement issued by the company Hillcrest claims that two of its patents which relate to a handheld three-dimensional pointing device, and navigation of an interface display system that graphically organises content for display on a television is being used by Nintendo.

Wii will keep you posted.
