If you thought an 80GB hard drive sporting PlayStation 3 was big, Sony has just announced a 160GB hard drive at its keynote speech in Leipzig in Germany.

The new mammoth PS3, announced by SCEE president Reeves, will go on sale on 31 October for 449 euros (£350) in a bundle including additional PLAYSTATION Network content.

Reeves pitched the 160GB model at "those of you out there with an insatiable thirst for downloadable content and an unquenchable need for storage space".

The announcement comes as an 80GB model hits the UK this Friday.

Have you ordered an 80GB model? Will you be cancelling your order and waiting for October? Let us know in the comments below.
