From a relatively slow start, Apple has rapidly expanded the markets the iPhone will be offered in.
From the big markets, it was only mainland China, Japan, South Korea and Russia that had not yet been confirmed.
But in a blog post, 9 to 5 Mac claims that the Russians may soon get the Apple device.
Quoting a Bloomberg article written by telecoms correspondant, Maria Kolesnikova, it says: "OAO VimpelCom, Russia's second-largest mobile-phone company, and OAO MegaFon, the third-biggest, may sign a deal with Apple to start selling iPhones in the country this week".
"As part of the agreement, Apple wants each operator to buy 1 million to 1.5 million iPhones."
